About us

Terracyclic Bio Bins

The TerraCyclic™ Bio Bin is a Sanitary Disposal Bin developed by TerraCyclic, a division of Powder Room Services – one of New Zealand’s largest hygiene service companies.

Powder Room Services is a family-based company with over 25 years’ experience in the hygiene industry.

As owners and directors, we take a hands-on approach – working in the day-to-day business and on research and development.

Our aim is to provide clean, comfortable facilities that work well for users, suppliers, cleaners and building owners.

We are constantly looking for new solutions that are practical, cost-effective and environmentally sound.

As New Zealanders, we care about sustainability. We bring a clean, green approach to the hygiene industry.

Why we developed TerraCyclic™ Bio Bin

Many of our clients were frustrated with the Sanitary Bins available on the market. They wanted a sanitary disposal bin solution that was:

  • more attractive.
  • off the floor.
  • compact and discreet.
  • environmentally friendly.

Some clients were already using enclosed systems but felt these could be better. Others wanted to provide a safer, yet cost-effective alternative to the open wax or plastic-bag system.

We gave them TerraCyclic™ Bio Bin – and we haven’t looked back.

After four years of extensive trials in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, we launched TerraCyclic™ Bio Bin onto the world market in 2006.

Studies by our US distributors have shown a return on investment for their clients of between 300% and 700% (depending on what system the Bio Bin has replaced).

Today, clients in more than 15 countries are using TerraCyclic™ Bio Bins – the safe, simple, environmentally responsible solution for sanitary waste disposal.
