Outer units made to last

Waste and energy use are reduced because the Bio Bin outer units are durable and need replacing less often.
They last longer for several reasons:

• They are made from tough plastic or a combination of plastic and stainless steel.
• They don’t need cleaning and are wall-mounted so are less often damaged.

And when they finally reach the end of their lives, they are fully recyclable.

Bin liners biodegradable

Our bin-lining cartridges are made using plastics that are designed to break down better and faster. Once they are put into landfills, they safely degrade and biodegrade within two to three years.

Because they are small, they pack down more easily when they are disposed of.

Special plastics safer for the planet

Our Bio Bins are made using totally degradable plastic additives designed by ECM BioFilms Inc.

Conventional plastics break down very slowly - taking decades or even centuries.

ECM BioFilms Inc. plastic additives, accelerate this process wherever they are disposed of, so long as other products are biodegrading, so that it happens over a period of less than 5 years.

The end result of this process is carbon dioxide (aerobic degradation) or carbon dioxide, methane and water (anerobic biodegradation)

Less energy to move and maintain

The compact outer cylinders can be transported in halves, and the inner replacement cartridges are light and small, reducing the environmental impact of transportation.

And because the units don’t need cleaning, there is less energy used – reducing emissions. Unlike other systems, no large cleaning trucks or facilities are used.

Deodorisers safely break down

The deodorising granules within the Bio Bin cartridges are made from natural mineral salts, coconut-oil-based, odour-neutralising agents, odour absorbers and fragrant oils. They are readily biodegradable, leaving no environmentally damaging residues.
